Welcome to the First and Second Grade Busy Bee Hive!
The children ARE Busy Bees in these grades. To keep them energized to do their best, they need to have a protein-rich breakfast for fuel. Then every day at about 9:15 am, they will have their morning snack. It needs to be a nutritious snack and not very sweet, because sweets are burned up fast and will quickly leave your child feeling tired.
Some nutritious snacks are a combination of: cheese slices, sticks, or curds, various nuts, pretzels, raw veggies, fruits, cereals, crackers, yogurts, cottage cheese, dried meat sticks, or even a half of a sandwich made with cheese, sandwich meat, or peanut butter.
